Kyle Hof, M.S.

Polymer Scientist

Kyle is a highly motivated individual with 6 years of experience with materials engineering and polymer science. He attained his undergraduate degree from the California Polytechnic State University in Materials Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He continued his education at this university where he attained his Masters Degree in Polymers and Coatings Sciences, where his thesis investigated the long term effects of the human body on several biopolymers. He has worked in the medical device industry at leaders like Medtronic and Edwards Lifesciences performing materials testing, long term biopolymer studies, test method development and failure analysis. He has also had significant materials characterization experience and can run and operate DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, DMA, GPC, GCMS, tensile testing, and materials extrusion instruments. He has a passion for biopolymers of all kinds and is particularly interested in biodegradable polymers.
Archer Leida, M.S.

Senior Materials Engineer

Archer Leida has over 5 years of engineering experience in failure analysis and materials development. He serves as a senior consultant on projects related to metallurgical systems, new polymer development and sustainable engineering solutions. He is proficient in performing advanced characterization and failure analysis using state-of-the-art laboratory testing equipment and computational techniques to investigate failure behavior materials systems. In 2021, he completed his undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering form California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. He concurrently completed his master’s degree in Polymers and Coatings Chemistry from the same institution.
Maxi von Welczeck, M.S.

Materials and Textile Engineer

Maxi von Welczeck has over 6 years of materials and textile engineering experience. Maxi is specialized in material characterization, performance testing, and product development. Blending his skills of mechanical design and material selection Maxi is able to make unique solutions to complex problems. Maxi studied under professors Dr. Trevor Harding and Dr. Ray Fernand in order to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering and a Masters in Polymer and Coating Sciences.

Maxi currently is the manager of textile engineering and innovation at Ruggable, a premier rug e-commerce business that specialized in machine washable rugs.
